Privacy Policy
The DriveReady Coach app collects no personal data. See how the app, optional GPS and street map, in-app purchases and website analytics are handled.

DriveReady Coach (“we,” “us,” or “our”) publishes a supervised driving companion app for iPhone and Android, a web app, and this companion website. This page explains what information is — and isn’t — collected when you use the apps or visit drivereadycoach.com.
The short version: The DriveReady Coach apps do not collect or store your personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no names, no email addresses, and DriveReady Coach does not receive your location data (the optional street map and anything you choose to share are explained below). Everything you do inside the app — drives, checklists, observations, progress — stays on your own device. This promise applies to the apps. Our website uses analytics tools with your consent, as explained under “This Website” below.
The Apps (iPhone, Android and Web App)
The apps do not require or request an account. They do not collect your name, email address, contacts, or device identifiers, and they contain no advertising and no analytics. Drive sessions, checklist results, skill observations, notes, progress totals, and any student or supervisor names you type in are saved on your own device only (in your browser for the web app), and are never transmitted to us or to any third party. If you delete the app or clear its data, this information is permanently deleted. Because we do not have a copy, we cannot recover it for you; you can save your own copy with the backup feature in Settings.
Optional GPS (Supervised Drive)
DriveReady Coach can optionally use your device’s GPS to record the route, speed and distance of a supervised practice drive. Using GPS is entirely optional — the app works fully without it. If you use it, location data is processed and stored on your device only, and we do not receive it. Location permission is controlled through your device’s own settings (iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services; Android: Settings → Location), and you can change it at any time.
Optional Street Map
Your route is drawn on your device from your saved route data, with no network request. The app also offers an optional street map, which is off by default and asks for your confirmation before it is turned on. If you turn it on, map images for the area of your route are requested from OpenStreetMap, which can see your device’s IP address and the area being viewed (see the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy). Your GPS points, speeds and drive records are not sent as part of these requests, and you can switch back to the drawn route at any time.
Sharing and Exports
When you export a drive log as a PDF, or save a backup file, it is generated entirely on your device. If you choose to share it, the information you choose to share leaves your device only as part of that action, only to the destination you select, and only at your explicit direction — for example saved to Files, sent by email or message, printed, or handed to an instructor directly. We never see, receive, or store a copy of any exported file. Backup files contain your drive records, so keep them somewhere safe.
In-App Purchases
DriveReady Coach is free to download, and the first drive that lasts 10 minutes or more is free. After that, each country is unlocked individually with a single one-time purchase handled entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details, card number, or billing address.
- iPhone: the app checks what you have purchased directly with Apple on your device. No DriveReady server is involved.
- Android: to complete a purchase, the app sends the purchase confirmation (the product and its purchase token) to our server, which confirms it with Google Play so the purchase is not cancelled. It does not include your name, email address, or location, and we do not link it to you.
We cannot process refunds directly. Refund requests must go through Apple’s Report a Problem or Google Play’s refund process.
App Updates
The iPhone app may check drivereadycoach.com for updated screens and content. As with any web request, this lets our hosting provider see your IP address and the app version. No personal data is sent, and it is not used to track you.
This Website (drivereadycoach.com)
This website does not require an account and does not run advertising. We do use Google Analytics (which may be delivered through Google Tag Manager) and Google Search Console to understand overall website traffic and search performance — for example, which pages are visited and which search terms bring visitors to the site. These tools use cookies and collect aggregate, non-identifying information about visits; they do not collect your name, email address, or other information that identifies you personally. This is separate from, and unrelated to, our apps and the web app at drivereadycoach.com/app, which do not use analytics of any kind. You can control cookies through your browser settings and through the cookie preferences banner on this site, and you can learn more about how Google handles this data in Google’s Privacy Policy.
Your web browser may also exchange basic technical information with our hosting provider as a normal part of loading any web page (such as your IP address and general browser type, for compatibility purposes) — this is standard web server behaviour, not something we actively collect or review beyond the analytics described above.
Children’s Privacy
DriveReady Coach is designed to be used by a supervising adult — a parent or driving instructor — to log observations about a learner driver, who may be a minor. Because the apps collect no personal data from anyone, about anyone, there is no personal information gathered from or about a minor at any point. Nothing about the learner’s identity is ever requested, stored off-device, or transmitted. If you have questions about a younger family member’s use of the app, please contact us below.
Third-Party Services
The third parties involved in DriveReady Coach are the Apple App Store and Google Play, which distribute and bill for the apps and their country unlocks; OpenStreetMap, which provides map images only if you choose to turn on the optional street map; and Google (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Search Console), which provides analytics and search-performance reporting for this website only — each governed by its own privacy policy. The DriveReady Coach apps do not integrate any advertising network, analytics provider, or data broker of any kind.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Since we don’t collect contact information from users, we’re not able to notify you directly of changes — we encourage you to check back periodically.
